Still Looking for Prince Charming?

As I was writing my first book, I saw that there was a pivotal moment, in every woman’s story, when she finally realized—No one will do this for me. Prince Charming isn’t coming.

I’m here to tell you: Dispelling the Prince Charming myth is the most important financial decision you will ever make.

Let me warn you. Prince Charming doesn’t need to be a man. PC could be the lottery, an insurance settlement, or just an amorphous something…anything you imagine will rescue you financially.

Trying to manage money while harboring a rescue fantasy is like driving a car with watered down gas. You’re just not going to get very far.

But rest assured, it’s the myth, not the man, that has to go. You can have your Prince. You just need to change the job description. He’s no longer your rescuer or your savior. He is your partner.

Who or what do you think will somehow rescue from your financial difficulties?  Tell me about it in the comments below.

    Hi Barbara,

I quite often hear people talk about a “ great idea” that never really comes into fruition what will end all their financial worries in life.

Oh Llsa…you are so right. I never thought of the BIG IDEA as PC, but now that I think about it, it’s so obvious and I hear it all the time! Thanks.

I hear about great ideas followed up by no actions all the time. Similar to fantasizing about Johnny Depp arriving at my door to pick me up in a stretch limousine.

Another one is “get rich quick scams”. If you sell this magical product you will start making 20 thousand dollars a month with very little effort which will end all your financial worries! Although it sometimes can happen, it’s similar to your theory of PC being the lottery!

I love this topic Barbara! I never thought about PC being the same as the lottery or anything that we think will ” save” us. I encounter this a lot when teaching a prosperity class at Unity church which I am doing tonight. Thank you for giving me such a great metaphor to use to counter the saviour thinking that rears its head in such sneaky ways. For me personally I think there was a time I thought that publishing my book was my PC. It didn’t take me long to have that myth dispelled!
