A New Breed of Women

I’ll never forget reading an Allianz Study on women that came out after the financial crisis of 2008.

It made an exciting discovery. A new demographic was emergingWomen of Influence. These women aren’t necessarily high earners, or even gainfully employed, though many are.

What sets them apart is how financially savvy they are. In other words, as Allianz reports,  this new breed is “more confident in their ability to spend, save, and invest wisely than the average woman.”

And what’s really exciting—These Women of Influence are becoming global change makers, claiming their power, owning their greatness, making an impact.

I see it as inevitable. Once a woman becomes financially secure, her motivation shifts from making more money to leaving a legacy.

She starts looking for opportunities to gain more influence and give back to others in ways that fill her with meaning and pleasure, while at the same time imbuing her with joy, fulfillment and meaning.

These Women of Influence offer our greatest hope for healing the planet.

I believe, because you’re reading this, you are meant to be one of these women—if you aren’t already.

As a Woman of Influence, you are in the best possible position to leave a meaningful legacy. And, in the end, isn’t that what life is all about? Not just how you live, but what you leave behind?

Have you considered the legacy you want to leave? Tell me about it in the comments below.

Barbara, thank you for your insight and comments. I have been thinking about my legacy and have decided that i will be living my legacy rather than leaving it. What i mean is i choose to have life experiences with those i love now, rather than leave money to them when I die. I am living intentionally in the present with an abundant mindset. Does that mean I won’t leave anything behind? Of course not, but i do enjoy having fun now!

I think I’ll become more clear on my purpose in about 5 years later. One of my passions right now is helping people pass an incredibly difficult exam I struggled with. It made me question my cognitive ability a lot and people would often make disparaging remarks like “oh, it’s so hard for people like you”. I never want anyone to feel dumb! Never ever, unless they try to make me feel dumb….I want to make this feel easy!
